I had the most amazing experience with Julie of Venus Adventures. We explored so much of Nepal. From the colourful and frenzied City of Kathmandu, the historic areas of Bandipur, to the quiet farm areas where we interacted with the indigenous Gurung community, the Monastery stay and of course the Everest flight. The tour and experience was immersive and informative. The majority of our accommodations were wonderful old historic boutique hotels that enhanced and highlighted the Nepalese architecture and hospitality. Our local Nepalese guide was helpful, supportive and knowledgeable sharing his insights into the rich history of Nepal. I would definitely recommend Venus Adventures and can’t wait to travel with them again.

I can’t recommend Venus Adventures highly enough, especially for the intrepid woman traveller who knows the boundaries of her courage. India was a destination I’d never felt brave enough for, but when I saw Julie was offering a three-week trip to Rajasthan, I signed up straight away. Safety, a balanced itinerary and cultural sensitivity are important to me. And they’re a big part of Venus Adventures trips. What I love most about Julie is her attention to sustainability, her compassion and her generosity. And her humour of course!

While we explored the many souks, Medina’s and wonders on offer, Julie was behind the scenes making sure everything was going to plan and we would be well looked after. I have been on 4 of Julie's trips - Italy, Cuba, Camino and Namibia/Botswana. They are the perfect trip for someone on their own or with a friend or two - they are small in size which appeals and you also make lifelong friends. Most people I've met on the trips have been on other destinations with Julie - that is very telling how good they are. One of the best things about the trips that I loved was it was extremely well organised - takes a lot of stress out of travelling.

Just returned from another Venus Adventure with Julie, this time Portugal and Spain. This is my third trip with Venus and I’m sure there will be more. We had excellent local guides and always visited the “must see” places, but also the little known gems off the beaten path. I had never been to Portugal and found the towns friendly and the food fabulous. Walking on the Camino Trail was a highlight of the trip for me. Cruising the Douro River and visiting a winery were also very enjoyable. The spa visit was refreshing and the cooking class was so much fun. We made several seafood / fish dishes and the famous cake of Santiago. Delicious!! The trip was even more special because I was able to reconnect with my Australian friend whom I met on another Venus trip.
