Price includes return flights from Auckland, 3 nights accommodation, all meals, all on-island transport, tours and a coastal cruise. Moderate fitness level required. Price does not include alcohol. Don't forget your togs and towel.

DAY 1
Your Getaway host, Steve, will welcome you at Claris airfield and drive you to Great Barrier Lodge on the waters edge of the beautiful Whangaparapara harbour.
After a light lunch you're off for a short bush walk to some natural Hot Springs for a soak in one of the undeveloped thermal pools. You'll be inspired by the beauty of the native bush as you stroll over bridges and through Nikau Groves.
Then it's back to the lodge to settle in.
Tonights dinner and fun at The Currach Irish Pub.

DAY 2
Are you ready for the Ultimate Tour?
Chris from the Lodge will take you on a spectacular cruise up the west coast to Port FitzRoy aboard the 38ft Sundancer. You'll see the Broken Islands and the Gannet Colony and enjoy lunch on board before disembarking.
Steve will then drive you back down the island, stopping at the Windy Canyon for a short walk to the ridge where the views are all encompassing; and at Awana Beach to boil the billy for a nice hot cuppa (or a wine...) before returning to Great Barrier Lodge for a scrumptious meal.

DAY 3
Today is 'Meet the Locals' day.
Steve will pick you up at 9am and take you on a tour to Tryphena where you'll visit the Shoal Bay Pottery, The Black Cow woodwork and painting studio, the Claris Museum, and the Aotea Community Art Gallery.
You'll see the tranquil west coast beaches on your travels and lunch will be taken at the Wild Rose Café in Tryphena.
There's time to get out on the Whangaparapara harbour this afternoon in a kayak or read a book with your feet up.
Dinner this evening is at the exclusive Mt. St. Paul Lodge for a four-course extravaganza.

DAY 4
Pack your bags and bring them with you.
A chance this morning to visit Medlands for a picnic and a leisurely walk along the beach before Steve takes you back to Claris airfield.
The flight over the gulf gives you time to reflect on your awesome short break on magnificent Great Barrier Island.
