Global Trips for Women
Read below to see what our happy Venus Adventurers have to say about us:
"My first trip with Venus Adventures was to Morocco in 2007. It was an unforgettable, amazing trip, which I did not think could be surpassed, but booked on to Ethiopia in 2009. Wow. Also just as incredible. In 2010 I came back for more: Egypt. This trip was fabulous in so many ways, I just loved it. My next trip will be the Africa Safari in 2012. As a solo female I am able to visit exotic destinations which I had previously only dreamt of. I can only rave about VA trips = safe, fun, interesting = fantastic!"
"I have spent part of today trawling through my photos. I can't believe how much we actually got through in a relatively short time frame, and still had time to enjoy great dinners, tasty lunches, plenty of adventures, and great company with so many laughs...and not to forget our G & T's.." (Morocco)
"The highlight for me was definitely the night in the desert - such an amazing experience. I also loved the camel ride and getting to meet the locals. I felt I was able to get a feel for the culture too - this is something I have found lacking on other tours I have done " (Egypt)
"Ethiopia is so amazing and undiscovered! I loved the food, the coffee, the people, visiting the Fistula hospital, hyena man, the markets, the Afar tribe, Blue Nile Falls, the stops along the road, Simien mountains, the Gonder castles, the churches and shopping in Lalibella. Julie puts the human face to the country that we are visiting and wants interaction with the locals. Keep up the great work, we love you!" (Ethiopia 2008, Morocco 2007))
"My India highlights:Shashi's cooking class, visits to local homes, forts and palaces, guided tours and street walks, busy city vs quiet country interchanged to recharge/relax, camaraderie of female only group, quality historic accommodations, an transport with air con, train trip, the home stay and visits with local people, the festival in Kota. I loved it all!" (Morocco April 2013, India October 2013)
"Thank you Julie, for the most wonderful holiday, the experiences were amazing, and I personally loved every minute. I wish you all the best for your future trips, and wish I could go on every single one of them. I will certainly be recommending you. Look forward to catching up one day,
"I went to Morocco in 2009 with Venus Adventures and thought that trip was fantastic and unsurpassable - but that trip was only the start of my adventures! This year I went to Ethiopia, and it turned out to be a good rival for Morocco. Every day was a huge adventure, we saw and experienced so much...and learnt so much about Ethiopia - what an amaazing country, not to be missed!" (Morocco 2009, Ethiopia 2010)
"This has been one of the best small-group experiences I have ever had. The trip was very well organized and superbly put together. Thanks Rachel!" (Vietnam)
"Thanks to your careful planning and organizing skills my Moroccan experience exceeded all expectations. Your care and concern were remarkable. We flowed from place to place and situation to experience with such ease and I felt safe and secure in your hands. Many thanks for an unforgettable time and looking forward to future trips with you." (Morocco)
Kate, South Africa
"Julie was a good leader - she is very efficient, organised, caring, and great fun. There was a good balance of organised time and time out on our own. She introduced us to a Morocco which I doubt larger groups would have the chance to see and she has a real empathy with the people there.
I would definitely like to travel with her again" (Morocco)
"Ethiopia was a great trip, well-organised, fun, exciting, learning and challenging. Always an experience with Venus Adventures, so much to see and learn. How do you tell your friends and family when words and cameras do not do justice". (Ethiopia 2008, Morocco 2007)
"Great, great, great! Such fabulous memories - it was amazing, I enjoyed every minute. I am wearing my red silk jacket as I speak about to go out to dinner!!" (Vietnam)
"Thank you for the great tour. My family could hardly believe it when I told them all the things we did, especially the rafting. It was fun unpacking everything and giving out presents. It seems really dull at home now after all the fun we had but I guess the normal round will take over again.."(Morocco)
"I thought the trip on the whole was well thought out and suitable to women of my age-group who wish to travel in a reasonable degree of comfort. Highlights were meeting the locals, the night under the stars in the White Desert, cruising the Nile, and the significant historical aspects". (Egypt)
"Venus Adventures put together an exciting, packed itinerary to Egypt! The group size was perfect, the guides were personable and well-informed and all the sights just kept getting better and better (from remarkable to spectacular!) I hope to travel with Venus and Julie again in the near future...inshallah!" (Egypt)
"Looking back at everything we did, it's hard to believe we were only there for 12 days. We learned so much about the culture and people, had a lot of fun, and got to experience a side of Morocco that wouldn't be possible otherwise - staying at the magical mud hotel in the desert, the Berber village, the Hammam, and of course, dinner at your friends home. The trip was so well-organized, and we always felt very safe and taken care of by you, and the local guides. And even when things didn't go according to plan, (like the untimely sandstorm in the desert), you still managed to create a fun evening for us!!! Thanks for an amazing Moroccon journey, Julie, and for giving us memories that we will cherish. Hopefully, we will be able to explore another country with you and Venus Adventures!" (Morocco)

Wow, all seems so long ago! As I talk to people about what we saw, what we did and the distance we travelled I am still amazed. It was a great trip of a lifetime and I am so glad to have been on board.
On reflection I think it went very smoothly given we were in Africa, crossing multiple boarders, sometimes driving in remote country, chasing wild animals etc Full marks to Andy, Kingston and Nicholaus for keeping us so well fed, housed and on schedule. Julie your organising, documentation and attention was extraordinary. Being "on" 24/7 for 3 weeks was demanding and I am sure we all recognise that. There were days I could hardly get my own kit together let alone problem solve for someone else. Thank you.
To all you lovely Women it was a pleasure to meet and travel with you and I would love our paths to cross again. I have been checking out Venus Adventures schedule and I am so not done! (Namibia/Botswana Safari)
"Every stop had its highlights, but Sapa and Halong Bay were the top of the list, not to mention the trekking and the whole junk experience - and of course the scenery! I felt safe and adequately organised and enjoyed the small group. Jennie was great!" (Vietnam)
Many thanks for making my African Safari the best it could be. I enjoyed every moment of it, it was a real adventure! (African Safari)
"I loved visiting the widows huts in Rwanda, the mountain gorillas, travelling by truck, seeing all the wild animals in the game parks and the wonderful meals cooked on the truck. If you want to have a great African Safari - have Julie as the leader, travel on Andy's truck and have Nicolas, the best cook in Africa!" (African Safari 2012, Morocco 2010).
"I have returned with renewed energy and motivation, really appreciating the life I have. I'm sitting on my verandah with a bickie and coffee enjoying the fact that I don't have to be working - unlike many of the Morrocans. I have to say that this trip was the best trip I have been on, and I have been on a lot in my time". (Morocco)
"I had an absolutely fantastic time in Egypt & really appreciated all the hard work you did in keeping us occupied & informed. Everyone keeps asking me what the highlight was but I can't say there was one highlight - there were many & each day brought something new & interesting. Just being in the middle east & experiencing how the people there live & understanding their day to day living was so interesting for me. I certainly appreciated meeting your Bedouin friends, finding about their lives, listening to Allaa (our Cairo guide) was so interesting - I thought she was great & was totally absorbed by her views of the politics etc & insight into her way of life. Fascinating. Also, I have come away knowing much more about the Egyptian ancient civilisations & the Sinai - what an education I have been given & the opportunities to learn that you provided me with has been really appreciated. I would never have visited the Sinai without your suggestion. A BIG thank you Julie. Egypt has certainly awakened my senses to the western world around me, and I have to say it is the best trip I have ever been on" (Egypt)
"I loved the unique opportunities that occurred - meeting people in their homes and being given the opportunity to understand their culture. Also, dressing up in amazing local clothes and going to the Dusshera festival with the Royal Family - what a treat, which I will never forget" (India)
"Thank you again for the most wonderful experience. Your attention to detail is amazing.
Your guides are so well chosen and know their history to perfection. I loved learning all about Muslim culture, especially as it is all so relevant in todays world". (Egypt/Jordan)
"My highlights: Our first day in Delhi..incredible introduction to India and the whole day was a highlight. Our homestay..particularly the evening walk to watch the sunset. Staying at Chandeleo...wonderful walk through the village and dancing with the local girls in the square at night. The beauty of Udaipur. The evening ramble in Deograrh. Bundi...great opportunity to explore a town on our own. The Taj of course and the ease of viewing it with our guide. Really so many highlights. Every day was special. The accommodation was above expectation and seeing the real countryside was very special". (India 2014)
"I loved everything about my trip to India, it was so much more than I expected. I loved the guided trip around Old Delhi with Drew. I loved staying in the palace in Deograh and our visit with the Maharani. Staying at the home stay with the family and joining in their day to day life. Also buying the carpets. There were so many highlights hard to think which ones I enjoyed more than others. "
The trip was fabulous; its memories will stay with me for a long time. I realised that our trip was fun in so many ways and making new friends, having new experiences was as important as what we saw. We loved our time on tour, what we saw, what we did and we even converted some people to becoming new ginaholics! Lovely. (Namibia/Botswana 2014, and previously Kenya/Uganda and Morocco)
Thank you Julie, for organising and coordinating such a fantastic and memorable adventure. As you said, we would return fitter and that is true. Loved the stunning hikes, the glorious food, and the history of Pompeii, Naples and Florence. Wonderful to meet and spend time with a diverse and interesting group of travellers. (Italy 2015)
Of the three trips I have done in this area of the world this was by far my favourite. The organisation and thought that went into this trip was outstanding, having guides was icing on the cake because what we saw was the best and having local knowledge really helped. We were also well looked after while still having some independence to decide what we wanted to see. Not having to queue, wait for transport, having our accomodation and meals organised for us all added to a great trip. I would have no hesitation in travelling with Venus Adventures again. (Italy 2015)
As a first-time traveller, I found this trip above all expectations. It was well-organised, with an excellent variety and balance of walking, shopping, sights, activities and history. The accomodation was superb
and the food fabulous. I would highly recommend Venus Adventures. (Italy 2015)
Thank you so much for our extraordinary trip through Vietnam and Cambodia.
I have been raving about our holiday since returning to NZ and when I speak to others who have travelled to Vietnam in particular I realise just how much we fitted in to those weeks.
So many highlights but Halong Bay would have to be near the top of all my travel experiences. Such a perfect mixture of indulgent luxury, well organised activities and beautiful natural surroundings. I wanted to pinch myself that I was actually there and it was better than the brochures. Very, very special. I also think fondly of the plastic stools and the beer!! Angkor Temples was the other highlight. Absolutely breathtaking and the organisation of getting us around made the whole experience so easy. I just love the whole concept of travelling with a small group of women to places that would be a little daunting...and not as much fun!...on your own. It makes me very happy :)
